European Rhinologic Society – Juniors

The European Rhinologic Society provides a forum for the exchange of experience among specialists, interested in rhinology, allergology, related facial plastic surgery and other fields.

This goal is achieved by biannual congresses, held in cooperation with the International Symposium on Infection and Allergy of the Nose (ISIAN), by accredited courses, fellowships and awards. The ERS is a non-profit-organisation. The Society is dealing with membership-fees or donations, however. Therefore, we must be officially registered in order to avoid troubles with taxes. Because there exists no general European law, registration is needed in a European country. Since the Society was founded in the Netherlands and the membership-office is located in this country, a Dutch lawyer assists us in this process. An official registration is also essential for being acknowledged by other official organs e.g. European institutions. Since the last amendments in 1986 further developments have to be taken into consideration in order to prepare the Society for the future and care for continuity.

World Skull Base

World Skull Base is a platform for both patients and professionals involved with Skull Base pathosis. The primary objective of WSB is twofold. Firstly, to provide support to patients suffering with skull base disorders. Secondly, to bring together professionals involved with treatment of such pathologies to promote research, best practices and training in the subspecialty. WSB brings together a multidisciplinary team of neurosurgeons, ENT surgeons, Head & Neck surgeons, Maxillofacial surgeons, Radiotherapists, Chemotherapists, Speech & Language Pathologists and other support staff who voluntarily take time off their busy schedules to help WSB achieve both the abovementioned objectives. WSB physicians offer online consultations to patients who wish to have a first or a second opinion. They also suggest innovative, individually tailored treatments for all types of tumors and other cranial nerve disorders. Our team of physicians meets twice monthly via Skype to discuss treatment approaches for new patients as well as review complex cases. Whatever the combination of specialists identified—neurosurgeons, radiation therapists, otolaryngologists, radiation and medical oncologists, head and neck surgeons—each patient receives coordinated care to treat for their unique diagnosis.
